Imaging of central nervous system manifestations of Tuberous Sclerosis: a current pictorial review for an “old” disease

Tuberous Sclerosis is a genetic multisystemic disease that mainly affects the central nervous system (CNS) of patients at any age. This study illustrates neuroimaging findings are included in clinical diagnostic criteria group with tuberous sclerosis (TS) two tertiary university hospitals. The findings, order frequency, cortical tubers, subependymal nodules, white matter abnormalities and giant cells astrocytomas. All these lesions represent disorganized neurons glial cells. Cerebellar hippocampal have also been described TS. Neuroimaging, particularly magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), has crucial role evaluation diagnosis sclerosis, especially atypical presentations or cases inadequate therapeutic response.
